From March to May 2020, Italy stopped due to the Coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19). Ministerial decrees blocked the economy, many workers were forced to stay at home, quarantine was recommended. With schools and offices closed, Italians have had to readjust their rhythms, their lives. Sport has stopped, the Olympics Games have been postponed.
The concept of “smart working” has become commonplace, as have dinners and aperitifs via Skype with friends. However, there are also those who have continued to work to ensure basic necessities or the safety of citizens.
“Like the arms of a tree” tells about the quarantine of Italians (in Italy and around the world) through portraits taken directly using the Skype platform. The means of communication has also becomes a means of testimony. 100 photographs of 100 Italians.
